This diorama achieves a great sense of depth and perspective through several techniques. Large pieces of driftwood dominate the foreground, with smaller and smaller pieces towards the back.
Nice wood textures are left exposed rather than being completely covered by moss. Enough white sand is also left empty, which serves as nice bright contrast to the wood and planted areas and prevents the aquascape from having a heavy feel.
